I write stories exploring possible futures based on popular science. I focus on spinning out scenarios based on emerging technologies and current scientific thinking about climate change.
The House Next Door trilogy is a series of three science fiction dystopia time travel novels. They start in 2055, in a world already ravaged by climate change. They are adventure stories with a serious message about the future we are making for ourselves.
The Recoverist Quartet begins with The Kind, the story of Isobel Twelvetrees, set in the desert archipelago called Area 55, a place formerly known as Britain, set in the late twenty-second century.
My short stories give me the freedom to range more broadly across time and space. Many of these shorter pieces are set nearer to our own time. A number were initially written for Near-Future Fictions. organised by Virtual Futures.
